Department of Educational Sciences, consists of four main branches :

1) Department of Curriculum and Instruction (EPO),

2) Education Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy Department (Educational Administration), the

3) Guidance and Counseling (Psychological Services ) Master of Science (EPH) and

4) Educational Measurement and Evaluation Department (EOD)

Located within the Department of Educational Sciences of the main branches of science majors only EPH students are admitted to the undergraduate level. Educational Administration and EPÖ only the main branches of science graduate (master/ doctorate) level students are taken.

EPÖ main branches of science, educational programs and teaching-learning approach for contemporary academic work is done. Educational Administration in the main branches of science, education and school management and the structure and function of the school as a social institution is working faces. EPH the main branches of science, school guidance and counseling services in the field of training.

Department of Educational Sciences, 12 professors, 8 associate professors, 12 assistant professors and 17 research assistants serve a total of 49 faculty members.

History

Central Teachers' College in the 1926-27 academic year consisting of only Turkish section was opened in Konya. In the academic year 1927-28 and the same year moved to Ankara opened Pedagogy Department. This section first graduates of teacher training colleges, primary school teachers and high school graduates were accepted. Rector of Gazi University in 1927, today the building is used as the building started to be built in the name of the school, while Ankara Male Teachers' College; 1929-30 academic year, the name was changed to Veterans Middle School Teachers  After 1962, Institute of Education got its name. Gazi Education Institute's teaching in the academic year 1967-68 period is 2 to 3 years was removed and the Pedagogy Department  was changed to the Department of Education. School until 1974 while boarding, boarding was removed after that date; training period was increased to four years, but again the following year was reduced to three years and again in the 1979-80 school year was increased to four years.

In the 1980-81 academic year, established by Law No. 2809 of Gazi University Faculty of Education Department of Educational Sciences took place with the name. Professional courses were changed in 1982 and in 1992 changed the name of the professional courses. In the academic year 1993-94, as in 1954-55, annual programs and semester programs passed that same year the Institute of Education Sciences, Social Sciences Institute began working under the umbrella. Reconstruction work in the 1997-98 academic year at the end of HEC Curriculum and Instruction Department of Educational Administration and Supervision degree programs in the graduate program may just close the case was brought. In the same context rearranging teaching profession courses, these courses as well as 3.5 + 1.5 in the form of a 4-year program organized as courses in the teaching profession took place.

Mission

Department of Educational Sciences The mission of Curriculum and Instruction, Educational and Counseling Psychology and Educational Administration, Supervision, Planning and Economy in the sciences of the country in need of specialists and researchers to train the country's education system needs high-quality scientific research and development activities and training services to offer. In this context, the mission of the Department of Educational Sciences sizes;

1. Veterans improving the quality of teacher education at the University and ensure that Turkey needs; national and universal values with the teaching profession with information and teaching-learning approaches and methods to train competent teachers,

2. Education in the field of science, the Ministry of Education and other public institutions and organizations and the private sector and non-governmental organizations operating in the field of education experts, researchers, managers, supervisors, educating,

3. In parallel with the increasing capacity requirements in higher education, the relevant departments of universities educating teaching staff,

4.Turkish Ministry of Education for the development of education and other public institutions and organizations operating in the private sector and civil society organizations working in the field of education administrators, supervisors, specialists and develop the professional competencies of teachers,

5.Turkish education in line with national interests and values in the development of policies and practices that will guide the research and development work, and the information produced with stakeholders to shape policies and practices that will ensure the cooperation and develop relationships,

6. Based on the philosophy of lifelong learning, collaboration in the work of the staff, transparency, freedom of scientific thought , creativity and originality was defined as developing.

Institute of Education Sciences, was made independently on 11/04/1997 and is one of the inherent divisions under the Department of Education ;

(a) In Educational Administration and Supervision,

(b) Curriculum and Instruction,

(c) In Education and Counseling

(d) Social and Historical Foundations of Education Department was divided into four.

Department of Educational Sciences Faculty of Education in all parts of a hand, the teaching of professional courses while continuing to perform a function , on the other hand, part of graduate education in the sciences has continued to be given.
